Here’s a picture that a year and a half ago I downloaded from tumblr, edited with adobe color curves, and reuploaded without credit (shame on me honestly)

Here’s the process

in rgb color space do that curve. logically it squeezes the contrast out of the midtones. after i do that i like to then boost the colors a bunch cause it looks extremely pretty
